    Hi again dudes
I've noticed a small sound on my hard drive, i have the Seagate ST9500420AS; i didnt notice it before, today i was able cause my house is really quiet and i am not playing or listening music; if i am not typing or not using the laptop i can hear the small rattle, i think it happens when i am writing information on the HD, like downloading or opening software, i want to know if this behaviour is normal or if the hard disk rattle sound shouldn't exist at all . . cause, i got this on my desktop pc since many time but i don't know too much about laptops normal sounds . . . thanks in advance

A small amount of HD noise is normal, but it should be barely noticeable, even in a quiet room.

I'd have to actually hear the noise to know if its abnormal.

Ok guys, i got news for my non too much answered problem thread :p ;)
I call Dell tech support, the guy told me than in some seagate's hard disk there is a bug which make this sound, also, seagate was informed about this and they did released a "pacth" ( i cant understand how a patch can fix a problem which is obviously hardware issue); the gentleman, very nice person, tried to find the patch but he didnt, he said than maybe because they pút this down cause the people still complaining with no a solution, i also show him the image above and he said than is not a normal behaviour and he did a report and i will get a replacement, they will send me a western digital hard drive instead this noisy seagate . . . . if someone got this HD on his brand new AW i would suggest scan the disk and go to the bathroom and check if can hear a not normal sound . . .

Lets see when they will arrive with my new video card, my new fans and my new hard disk, if this continue i will ask replacement for the gift cap also . . . . . and then, and then a new system . . .
