    Hey all,

The most graphically intense game I've played so far is Crysis 1, which happens to be the most graphically intense game I've ever played on pc. Any other games I should try out? I've got BFBC2 and BlackOps already, which do not/cannot (appearance-wise) compare to Crysis in terms of graphics on max settings.

Note: I'm looking for details/appearance, not FPS/playability. Just wanna cheggout the capabilities of this hardware and of today's games that's all ;)

    :) Thx!

I have heard Metro 2033 is more demanding than Crysis 1.

I dont think metro (or even crysis 1) will run at full max on max... remember laptop graphics is different to desktop graphics, if you wanted to see the capabilities of most demanding game, you should've bought a desktop

I'm not looking for performance in terms of playability/fps. I just wanted to see if there's any games out there with better graphics than Crysis that I can try out. Don't want a desktop.

    Thank you.

Currently the MOST demanding is The Witcher 2.

Dirt 2 is really hardcore graphics (I have not tried Dirt 3).
A warning though, this game will tax your gpu a lot. This is the only game my 2x 5870m cards hit 87C

Dookie, try Crysis Warhead, Lost Planet 2, Witcher 2, ARMA 2, and Metro 2033. They are all pretty demanding!

Metro 2033 is the most demanding game out there at the moment. On ultra settings, a 2920XM (@4.2ghz) with dual 6970M's can barely get 35 FPS, while the same setup on Crysis gets around 45 FPS.

^^ But it isn't. Crytek had console users in mind therefore made a less graphically intense game. Even on PC :(

Wait for 3 months and see BF3, should be able to kick metro's butt easily. Here are some screenshots and a gameplay video(watch it in 720p atleast, to experience the true awesomeness of the graphics) - http://www.gamingunion.net/news/battlefield-3-e3-screenshots-impress--5464.html
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zw8...navclient&gfns=1&q=bf3+trailer&has_verified=1
And when a company exec says this to console gamers who cry that the game does not look good on consoles, you just know it is a good sign for the PC version -

I bet I could build a computer that could run it at full settings. Would easily cost like $3000+ though. And no WAY will it be a laptop.

ahh but the frostbite 2 engine keeps getting better as we speak, no computer ever will be able to run it, this engine will keep getting better and better until real life looks terrible in comparison

Eh, you say the engine keeps getting better and better but so does hardware. And OC'ing a system with the best of everything would more than likely allow you to run it at full settings. Just like only tip-top of the line hardware was able to run Crysis when it came out, and Doom 3 before that..

Basically we can assume that no laptop will be able to run it on max, and top of the line desktop hardware should be able to do that.

    Yeh, laptops won't.

Desktops could, BUT will require the top of the line hardware and will cost a fortune and most likely won't be worth it.

It would be cool to max out BF3, but I remember in BC2. It was better to have your graphics a bit lower, so that you could beat the competition and get easier kills..

Are there any non-fps games that have hardcore graphics that's worth trying out? (Besides Dirt2 and 3)?

And I would say of the FPS games Metro has the best and most eye candy.. crazy nice graphics.

I wouldn't rate Empire as having awesome graphics. It looks nice, but my gaming desktop with older hardware can max it out and get like 100 FPS easily...

Dookie bar none the most intensive game on the market, that's not caused by horrible coding(Crysis) is Metro 2033 on absolute maxx settings in DX11. I've played Crysis, Crysis 2, Metro 2033, L4D2, COD:BO/MW2, etc on here and Metro is by far the best graphics and the toughest to run maxxed out.

Looks like I gotta get my hands Metro 2033 then. I watched the video for Battlefield 3 yesterday. Looks damn good and I felt like I was watching a movie. The graphics don't look as sexy as Crysis imo, but the characters' movements (running, finger gestures, hands, ppl having bad posture lol) is so realistic.

Nah The Witcher 2 is more demanding than Metro 2033, it cannot even be maxxed on the m18x with 2x6970m in Crossfire, even though it can max out metro.

I'm not asking for good looks + performance; I'm just looking for eye candy. Don't even care if it's running at like 15fps. Which game is the "prettiest" looking? Is it still Metro?

Im running The witcher 2 at max except for uber sampling, and even with that checked and can still pull like 20 fps, without im getting like 60, metro i could do it on high and get play ability, i could do max in areas without major lighting and get some lag but enjoyable, both games were running on 1080 also. think its a close call between the two though, but im pretty sure metro is a bit prettier to look at especially the lighting. both are gorgeous tho. running 2720 with single 6970 12gigs of ram.

How can you be running on max but i found on the m18x forums that many were not running it on max, they had to turn ubersampling off and a couple of things were off or at med too. I guess the game does not work too well with crossfire. These are the setting that people are using on their m18x for The Witcher 2 -
    [IMG]
But they can play metro 2033 on max just fine.

Wow dunno, that's crazy but I only have the sampling disabled, might have motion off too, gotta check ,was getting me dizzy anyway. Makes me feel Alot better not getting the 18, been upset that I didn't, guess they still need some tweaking. I mean I also use game booster but found it really didn't do that well on improving performance, also use advance care and cccleaner everyday , running retail version not steam if that changes anything.

I will post a screen later but dunno if that proves the fps, would love to be able to play metro maxed tho.

Ah so I guess its normal that I can only play crysis on medium or low settings. What about games like Starcraft/Heroes of Newerth I am not able to run those on max settings either and they are not very graphic intensive games.

Here is a screenshot of my benchmark:

Your 3d mark score is low , and the performance you are getting is also below everyone else gets, make a separate thread about your problem if you haven't already
EDIT: Just realized that you have the 460m, that performance is alright for that card, i was assuming you had a 6970m. Sorry my bad.
