Hey guys,
my last Dell was an XPS 17 about 3 years ago, and I remember having to conceal precicely that I had changed the HDD and my GPU, because otherwise, practically everything was void. Is this still the case? IF I buy an Alienware, I would like to install a Intel 320 series 300gb SSD drive...
Thanks

Opening your system won't void your warranty, as long as you don't damage anything in the process (as in most cases you'll be responsible for the repair). Many of us buy aftermarket storage, memory etc. but they won't be covered by the same warranty as the system if they are not purchased thru Dell.
Also if you purchase a part(CPU/GPU etc.) that later will be the cause of the system failure, agin warranty won't cover that if the aftermarket part is proved to be the cause.
I invite you to read the terms of the different warranty types Dell offers with these systems first, it will answer most of your questions
