So I tried uninstalling my CCC to upgrade from my current driver version (8.763.0.0) to the new 10-10 because I finally had time.

But when I tried to do a full uninstall of the CCC from the uninstall program thing, but when it was halfway through.. the computer just BSOD. Twice. Of course on startup it wouldn't find my OS, then it would BSOD again while trying to do a system scan for errors, then It wouldn't start.. so I just let it do a system restore and it worked.

Then I just tried to install the 10-10 series over the current driver version (which wasn't uninstalled thanks to my machine screwing up). I'm pretty sure it didn't do anything because the driver version is still the same (what's the way to get around that again?)

Oh and.. I tried playing a video ("An Idiot Abroad.. great show :p) and it wouldn't play. The computer went to that streamlined Win7 view like when you start up Vantage.

It wouldn't play any video on any program (VLC or Windows Media).

Joker has recommened I reformat.. and I will.. but for now, need to know if there's a quick fix to my issues.. or if anyone has had this.

Update: I managed to uninstall ALL CCC stuff without a bsod this time... but then I installed 10.10's, and it didn't change anything.. still stuck on old drivers. So I changed did that 'true' workaround just to be sure.. it didn't do anything. Ir say's 'succesfully installed' but it doesn't install install it. Its SUPER annoying.

Update 2: I noticed that there are 2 files all of a sudden. One where it's being installed in is c:\ATI. In that folder it has:
    -10.7 CF profiles
    -10.8a CF profiles
    -10.10 CF profiles
    -10.10 CCC

The second folder which is c:\AMD has:
-ATI Catalyst 10.7 Hotfix Win7. (Does that come 10.10's or is this some rubbish that isn't being uninstalled?!)

FINAL UPDATE: Managed to get 10.10's installed.. don't know what I did.. but I just repeated the process, re-downloaded the files from the thread here in the forums, and it worked. Must've been a bad file or something.

Moon, I hope you have your thing sorted soon!

    I'm not sure if I got them installed or not. I managed to uninstall CCC (after installing 10.10 over 10.8 - and then uninstalling it again). Anyway it didnt BSOD so I ran CCleaner and Driver Sweeper in safe mode to be sure. Once that was done I reinstalled 10.10 - so now my CCC reports the following;

    Driver Packaging Version 8.782-100930m-106237C-ATI
    Catalystâ„¢ Version 10.10
    Provider ATI Technologies Inc.
    2D Driver Version 8.01.01.1081
    2D Driver File Path /REGISTRY/MACHINE/SYSTEM/ControlSet001/Control/CLASS/{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}/0001
    Direct3D Version 8.14.10.0784
    OpenGL Version 6.14.10.10243
    Catalystâ„¢ Control Center Version 2010.0930.2237.38732

Has the diver updated? I dont know the previous driver number :p

My driver version says 8.782.0.0 (Catalyst 10.10).

Run Gpu-Z and it should tell you. Judging by your one, you seem to have the right one installed. Unless you accidentaly installed the Desktop Version.. that's the wrong one.
