A while ago I had to clean install due to a virus on my computer. It was the first time I ever had to do it and I followed the instructions from another thread on this forum. However 2 things that I haven't been able to "fix" is my wireless latency issue and the webcam. Whenever I play any multiplayer game via wireless I have about 50ms more latency than I did before. Also I can't find the right driver/application to reinstall the webcam central thing. These are two relatively small things but I would like to get things back to the way they were. Any information or help would be great thanks!

    1) the webcam has no driver. Windows 7 should enable it automatically. Have you tried to use it?

    2) The wifi may not be a driver issue. Are you downloading files, torrents, streaming Netflix, pandora etc? Any of those tasks with a game seriously worsen my latency. Is your router encrypted? If not, your neighbor doing any of those tasks (on your network) will slow down access also.

    1. It does work however before the clean install there was like a webcam manager application that would pop up every time I used it. Also the quality seems a lot worse but that might just be me remembering things wrong.

    2. As far as I can tell I don't have any programs causing latency issues. Usually all my programs are closed when playing games. Also this happens no matter what wireless I am connecting to so I don't think its a problem with the individual routers.

have you tried connecting with an Ethernet cord to make sure its the card, and not the game or a software issue?

Well to get my wireless to work at all, after the clean install, I had to hook up my computer to the ethernet and go to device manager and click on update drivers for the wireless card, even after i manually installed the driver from dell.com.

Could this be the cause of the problem? If so how would I go about fixing it?
