Hi
Year ago I bought Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor from gamersgate.com and I downloaded that game severe times.
Never, ever had a issue.
But, I cant install game on my windows 7 from alienware rig.
Geting error with compatibility issue from 32/64 bit.
I have desktop rig with win 7 sp1 64-bit and I dont have problem to download, and install game.
Read some news on google about windows dropping 16-bit aplication, but...
Anw, do you guys have some advice for me.

and bdw I contacted gamersgate, but, I dont think so, they will help me with this

Have you tried installing in compatability mode? Right click on .exe >properties > Compatability> Windows XP Service pack 3.
-
Yes, I tried.Both.Same pop-up about 16-bit aplications
But, when I inserted dvd from CoH opposing front expansion pack, I can install that one.And I dont have dvd for Tales of Valor. -
From what i have read, Windows 7 64 can only "go to 32bit compatibility whilst Windows 7 32 can run 16 bit, if that makes any sense. In the posted link there where a few programs you could try.

Hmmm. Like I wroted before:I have same windows on my desktop rig. Windows 7 pro sp1 64-bit. I can download and install game on that windows.
I had G73 from asus, also with windows 7 pro 64 bit, and downloaded and installed from gamersgate a couple of times.
Anw, thx for your replay's -

This is weird but I had exactly the same happen on my last rig. Something had 'got in' and was trying to run but failing, is what I eventually came up with. I run a lot of root kit detections and some oddities were found like locked areas in the registry (it was not possible to system restore) so I formatted it and reinstalled. Re-downloaded the game and it installed correctly. Never sure exactly what it was though...

Right now, I dont have time to re-install fresh copy of windows for the sake of game..but I have a plain to put ssd flash drive...

Usually, I install fresh copy of windows and then updating with drivers for chipset, motherboard, graphic etc.. -

Any games that gave that error were re-downloaded - only data was copied from the original.
Browse your device manager so you know exactly which drivers you need from Dell but the resource CD is good enough to get you running.
Just don't install Respawn until you are 'ready' for a factory image to be created. Check out this area of the thread http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...rive-aftermarket-drive-alienrespawn-q-28.html as you will need to get respawn separately and the latest version seem to have some (win 8) issues
