Hi guys please forgive me if this is a silly question is it possible to use the hdmi in port on the R3 without actually turning the system on as i have built a new desktop pc but haven't got the money to buy a monitor so i have been using my R3 hdmi in for a monitor but i have to turn my R3 on every time to actually use the hdmi in port. i know the hdmi in port is separated from the GPU and so on and doesn't remotely interfere with the laptop running in the background so i was hoping there was some way to achieve this task

    Many thanks martin :)

Yes power must be running to the system for it to work.

You can try putting it as much as possible into power saving mode though.

Probably best for long term use anyway, but like I say you can make sure your system is running as efficiently as possible at least.
