    Use the IDT control panel to enable 5.1 analog output. When you plug in each jack, the pop up should ask you what it is.

    I'm not completely sure about this, in fact, pretty unsure, but aren't you supposed to be able to either choose between using only USB to hook them up to your PC / Xbox, or the cables?

    Check the manual..

    the usb is to power them only

    I checked through every page on the IDT and that isn't an option. Plus if there was that option there isn't enough plug ins to plug them all in.

    Problem solved, returned them for logitec g930

    That works too (the g930 that is). The m17 does have enough ports. The four on the left side can be set to output everything you talked about. Mute point now.

    The G930 is a great headset though.
