I've read the other threads (that are locked). What is the final verdict on the best heatsink? I've ordered the higher cfm fans and thermal grizzly paste. I want to open my 17 one time. If there is a better solution than the stock HS, I'm game.

I ordered that heatsink for my 4930mx and the 1st one I got from the seller was bunk. It would thermal throttle worse than the stock one that i had. After contacting the seller and sending him screen shots etc, he sent me a new one. Set me back time wise, but it works pretty good after getting the 2nd one. I haven't done overclocking or messed with anything and it will boost to 3.9ghz and stay there all day gaming with no problems.

What fans did you order? I didn't know of any higher CFM fans for the 17R1? Oh and i also used Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut because I didn't want to mess with liquid metal on a direct die.

When you get the heatsink make sure you inspect the area where the CPU makes contact with heatsink. Mine had a large visible defect where the two mate making the surface uneven and not making good contact. I did a little digging last night and saw that here is 2 fan upgrades, one for the GPU and one for the CPU. I think I might look into this a little more now and see if i cant hunt some better fans!

I received the fans. It is the correct CPU, but not GPU fan. I have not yet found a GPU fan better than the OEM. There is one referred to as a "Turbo" but it is not clear it is any better than what I have.
