Nice, welcome to the club, and to the NBR forum. If you need help with anything, be sure to ask here, I bet we'll be able to figure it out.

You should definitely throw an SSD in that beast. It will feel like a new machine!

well you could save money and buy a SATA II drive as the M17x r2 is only SATA II capable.

I agree any will work but save a few and get a Sata II..If you have one hard drive the 500 installed then yes there is an empty bay for a second hard drive. Most of the time they shipped with a caddy for the drive in the bay. Sometimes they did not, in which case you can get one on ebay cheap or even from a member here. Alienware tech support can send one also. Happy gaming.

Welcome. These are amazing machines. I'll never have a desktop again. Some of these guys like to race these things lol but a SSD if you can afford it or a 750GBx2 would be all you really need.

Whats the point of having a sports/muscle car if you can't rev the engine a little bit? Similar thing applies here hehe. :D

An SSD would be a really viable option to increase the machine's performance and make it look just like a sports car to your friends haha.
