    I may have the issue of hard drive failure but I really don't know what is the hard drive compatible with the M17x because I've never really touched a laptop before internally. I have seen this one from Seagate but I don't know if it's compatible or not.

    There are also 2 bays right? Can I place 2 like 1 TB hard drives there (Sorry if it sounds so stupid, I really don't know)?

    Your help will be much appreciated. Oh and suggestions of what to buy would be greatly considered. :)

    The drive you linked only comes with a maximum size of 750gb. You could buy two of them and install them, but if you don't really need the space I would advice buying an inexpensive boot SSD and then using the 750gb drive as a storage drive for games and other data. Just my 10 cents. :)

    The HDD from your link is compatible, however I have some suggestions. First of all as bigtonyman said, SSD is a way to go if you do not need whose 2TB space (you can always get a nice external USB 3.0 drive later). I would grab 120GB or 240GB Samsung 830 SSD (they should be discounted now since 840 was released not so long ago) and install your OS. Then get 750GB HDD for storage, where there are some things to look for:
    do not ever buy straight from the manufacturer - any trusted retailer will have a better deal on the same drive;
    7200RPM is always better than 5400RPM - the faster HDD spins, the faster access to your data you have;
    if you are on M17X R4, your HDD bays are SATA 3 - 6Gb/s, so when checking the HDD and SSD make sure it supports SATA 3 (the HDD from your link is SATA 2 - 3Gb/s). It is not that important for HDDs though as they do not reach the maximum speed of SATA 2 anyway.

    Any 2.5" 9.5mm Sata HDD will be compatible.
