Hi everyone, I've been on this forum a lot to help me with my issues, but this is the first time I've ever posted, just because of how hard this problem is for me. Today I start up my alienware, only to find that it started up in a low resolution, and no amd card detected. So I went to the dell drivers page and got their crappy amd drivers back, installed them, they failed, and now is back in the normal resolution. I guess that mean they didn't exactly fail to update, but now about two minutes after it starts up, the screen dims way down. Game still run fine and everything, actually the only difference I noticed was that the integrated graphics card is not being read in the device manager anymore, just the amd 6990. I just want my screen back to normal brightness. Its there in safe mode, but not regularly. I tried to uninstall my display drivers, which under device manager is called "Generic non-PnP monitor". then when I restart the screen is vibrant and sexy again, but then dims in another 2 minutes. I'm really depressed because of this problem, if theres is anything anyone can do to help, that would be amazing. Thanks to all who post in advance.

    Hi Bro,
I found your problem just now because i sorted the topics by replies, yours had 0, witch is disgraceful

I understand your problems, all i can say is that:

I work for a company that fixes PC's, Laptops Etc,
We love to troubleshoot problems, it is our work to find a solution and FIX it.

I once told my boss ''i usually like to do a easy way fix, it is called ''FORMAT C:/ ''

He replied, '' is this the smartest way to fix it ?, will you learn from it ? -NO''

BUT, there are some cases when:
You try to fix something, and no matter what you do you will FAIL, google doesn't help, youtube doesn't help, friends eighter
You will spend 50 hours trying to find a solution, and lets say registry is so @#^% up that you can't do much about it, would ''Format c:/'' be a better option ?

    Sometimes - YES

    in other words

Do a data back up and...

    Format your baby bro :)

    OR
    1. Update bios
    2. Update Vbios
    3. Uninstall GFX drivers
    4. Install Driver sweeper
    5. Boot into safe mode
    6. Clean your PC from all AMD drivers
    7. Restart
    8. Install driver that worked previously, or Newest one
    9. If the newest one will not work go back to step 3 and install old drivers
    10. if you already solved the problem i just wasted 15 minutes of my life.

Hehe :) good luck bro :)
