    Help! 2960xm QS overclock

    Hi, i have 2960xm qs, but I don't see an option to overclock in bios (a12) overclock steps hidden.

    Go into the BIOS, enable overclocking, select the option for "Extreme Edition" and set a Level 3 overclock. From there you can do more fine tuning, but that is how you get a "factory overclock" in the most basic sense.

    If you want to do more than that you will need to flash an unlocked BIOS and/or use XTU to change other settings. You need the unlocked BIOS to disable the MSR lock.

    (While this link is for an M18x thread, the XM CPU overclocking techniques are the same for the M17xR3/R4. You may encounter some extreme overclocking cooling impediments that M18x owners don't have to deal with, but you can back down on the clock settings if you run into temperature limitations.)
