Help! I've been looking everywhere on Google for the answer and haven't found it!

About two hours ago my Alienware 17 was running fine, but it was running with just the Integrated GPU. I used the Fn+F5 hotkey to switch my discrete GPU on, and hit OK. The computer shut off, then gave me a black screen.

I powered it down manually and tried powering it on again. The monitor lit up, but the computer beeped and didn't show me the alienhead BIOS. It's been doing this for the last two hours! I've tried reseating the RAM and battery and it hasn't made a difference.

Does anybody have any idea what might be causing this? I desperately need access to my computer right now but I can't even get to the BIOS screen! Any help is greatly appreciated!

Try to remove the main battery and the CMOS battery located near the wifi card. Leave it for 10-15 minutes without the batteries in. If that doesn't work, time for picking up the phone and calling 1-800-Alienware. Best of luck!

I went into the laptop a good long while ago, but even after taking out the WLAN card, the CMOS battery looks like it's locked under the frame of the computer. I can't find disassembly instructions for the AW17 for the life of me (I keep getting results for the M17x models); do I actually have to remove the ENTIRE frame and all the pieces keeping it locked down just to get to the CMOS battery, or is there another way?

Edit: I managed to pop it out from underneath the frame, left it for ten minutes or so, and squeezed it back in. Now the thing is giving me FIVE beeps! wth is wrong with this thing?!

Edit 2: Now I'm getting a boot screen and a Windows loading screen, but after a few seconds that turns into a blue screen with a "INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE" error...

That would be the best thing to try on this situation. You could easily fix it with that. And if not, we are here to help out as much as we can.

I already tried though! The problem changed to something else; I get an "INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE" blue screen error after Windows 8 loads up.

Edit: Attempting a Win8 system refresh.

I think your windows is messed up too... You need to find a way to restore your system to default, that may solve your problem.
