    Hello all,

I currently have a m17x R1, T8600, dual 4870s, BDRom, and 1920x1200 screen... I'm getting a system exchange because I've replaced a heap of parts on this unit...

    So here comes the question...

Should I get another m17x with the i7, and dual cards, OR a fully loaded m11x.. with 8gb RAM, SSD, etc?

I use it primarily for games, and office apps.. which the m17x does, but I'm getting pretty tired of dragging a 12lb+ laptop around....

I thought about the m15x, but the weight isn't that much less than the 17, whereas the 11x is muuuuch smaller...

I'm really torn.. and probably sound like an idiot :D.. but seriously.. if you could get a mid-high end m17x or a fully done 11x for free, which would you go for?

    TIA

umm no brainer,M17x r2, your talking about the difference between a real system and a gimmick system. if your looking to actually game, then R2 is the way to go, but if you need a netbook with the ability to play games on low-medium settings, plus its way cheaper so your really not getting the true value of your replacement. personally it wouldnt even be a consideration to get the m11x to replace my m17x

You won't have much fun with M11X if gaming is a must.
the 11" screen is simply too small for that. It's only good for light and occasional gaming, IMHO.

    As for the weight,
I'm dragging my M17X to and from work every day (by foot) and don't even notice it due to the Orion backpack. It's almost orthopedic in weight distribution.

    Just my 2 cents here.

Rather than the M11x have you considered a Vic 20?

Yeah man screw the m11x for just hardcore gaming, one needs to remember it needs that the m11x can only so much, especially if you strategy games FORGET ABOUT IT LOL. Get the m17x and call it a day. Yeah it might be heavy but you can get a good orion bookbag or shoulder bag, get a m11x for on the go ultraportable more than gaming.

Wow, you're hardcore! The computer alone has what 5 kgs, then there's a power adapter that's half a size of m11x :D . Do you carry anything else?

I carry m11x, extra shirt or a sweater, usually a lunch and other small things like phone, keys, earphones... and it can get relatively heavy to carry.
