Hi, unfortunately my alienware gtx770m has burned out and i'm looking to buy a new graphics card, i'm an industrial design student so i need my pc for CAD more than i need it for gaming... So i browsed ebay and found a cheap quadro 4100 pulled from a dell laptop and my question is will it work in my alienware 17 r5? I know that in clevo laptops if you mod the vbios you can get it to work(or something like that) Thank you guys :)

I can help you, but lets keep it to PM's if you are looking to buy.
Yes, Clevo workstation cards can be bought and used in the Alienware systems, so long as they are the same MXM 3.0B modularity / form factor/slot.
Link me the card you are looking for.
I also have access to a lot of Workstation cards to sell, but I do not have any listing up, as I do them on a as needed basis. Too many variables to throw into one single listing for example.
I however, do all the flashing at a factory level, so it would work in your laptop, without having to reflash its vBios. I am not aware of any other company that does this,
Other then us at Eurocom. There are multiple cards that we have that would work in your laptop, too, if this one your looking at does not work out.

If i understand correctly, I think but am not sure, the 4100 is a very old card.

The card is- Nvidia Quadro 4100m (pulled from dell precision)

Has anyone else had experience with putting these cards in alienware laptops?
