Your looking to buy an M17x R2(corrected) right? Well, those links take you to page to configure your laptop. But you see, you chose a basic one with less specs, and a higher one with better specs thus the higher price. It doesn't matter, yiou can always click a different option. You just have to know what components you are looking for.

I believe those who have already purchased the M17x may be able to help you here. I'm just a newbie with Alienware gathering info first...then one day plan on getting my system.

@Killa Joe As the title says R2 and Nieiaa i would advise you to decide what you want from your laptop to do,think what options in terms of hardware suits your needs and finally call Dell to configure it or if you're more comfortable configuring it online do so!

I want an m17x for gaming and intensvie programms for processing, programming and working with 3d programs.
If it is good for games I think it should be good with many other intesnive programms.

Where is the page to configure my laptop?

    M17x - again

Here is the link to configure your laptop:
The Dell Online Store: Build Your System

P.S. This starts you off at bare minimums and you can select what you like. Good Luck!!!

Also, the specs I used in my sig are used for gaming and graphical design, and of course what you want/get may depend on what you are willing to spend.

Ok i thought you're talking about stock clocks
Then that sir would be the QX9300 of scook9 in a m17x R1.
In the R2 you can go for the I7 940xm out of Dell is the only extreme CPU for the m17x R2.
