Running windows 8.1 never had a problem , spec is 4910mq , 980m etc , installed precision x tonight to use as an overclocking utility for the 980m and happily scored over 13k on 3dmark11 so all good so far , re started system and 8 beeps , took the card out to check all seemed ok , still 8 beeps ,but blank screen on laptop plugged in my Tv into the hdmi port on the laptop and all boots up with the 980m etc all ok ran 3dmark again and still the same score so but basically I get 8 beeps on laptop if I start as is , but if I plug in the tv to the hdmi it all works ok and when in windows BOTH screens come on ie laptop and TV ...when in windows I can disconnect the hdmi and use the laptop as normal , but when I re start again it needs the hdmi plugged in ....crazy , does this mean the display is screwed even though when I windows its fine ???

Its better to do a fresh OS install, since precision x might have done something handy with windows files.
I had once use precision x and its PITA.
    Good luck.

Not so adamant than GodlikeRU about the failure but definitely finding mess with the new NVidia drivers when using new GPUs and W10.
I could advise to limit the overclocking and other customized stuff until things are getting better with nVidia drivers and OS gaps... but more experts on this forum can give better words.
    Good luck !
