Hi!
I've read the W7 tweaks guide etc, and this thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...indows-7-install-guide-alienware-systems.html
I've followed the instructions to the M17x R2 with a fresh windows 7 install.
I've got some problems.
I've replaced my two spindles with an ocz 250gb ssd.
I can't install my intel turbo boost or intel multi device drivers.
To top it off, my graphics are naught non-existent, but when I go to update them it says they're up to date.
Lastly, my screen resolution isn't going to its full 1920x1080, but I suspect this is due to the driver issue.
GPU's are 5870s.
Please help! =]

Sorry for the above rushed questions, I'm working a lot of hours lately and don't have much time to fiddle, I get frustrated and chase answers pretty quick =]
I managed to do a reinstall of the VGA in the bios, then re-installed the drivers and they're registering now, for some reason the drivers on the disc were 4870 drivers instead of 5870 =S Was even stranger that it told me my gpus were 4870s.. when they're not! =P
Anyway, that problem is solved, but the next one is really a PITA.
The alienware fx isn't working, but the fx center is. I can adjust the colours, change and apply, but none of the lights are coming on.
Obviously the keyboard driver is installed properly and theres only the software for the alienware command center - any ideas??
I only use this computer at night so its kinda important =/ -

Hi there. i suspect you messed up things a little bit
take your time and follow this http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...r2-full-detailed-description.html#post6978195
I think is the best source to restore your AW as it is brand new and functional
EDIT: forgot to mention: forget about the CD provided from Dell, almost everything is out dated in there -

Don't do a full wipe until you try a few things.
The R2 did come with 4870s as an option. It's strange that it would tell you they were 4870s if you have 5870s. Don't install the Turbo Boost driver as it doesn't do anything.
Your maximum resolution should be 1920x1200, not 1920x1080.
You can get the newest Dell-approved drivers from the Dell website, OR you can get the absolute newest driver from the AMD website.
As for your FX, try creating a brand new profile and seeing if that sticks. Don't work from the one that's already in place.
