I've asked around with no answers so thought I'd make a thread, unfortunately. I bought a 6300 card from newegg and replaced the default one in the r3. I installed the drivers from Dell and everything was working fine. Well when I came to work and booted it up, it couldn't even detect the wifi card. I checked and made sure it was seated correctly as well as the wires. The white for number 1, black 2, and gray 3 but none of the drivers I have are working anymore or anything. Help?

Have you searched for drivers directly from Intel? Really busy right now or else I'd find you a link.. Might be best to get it from them.

Yeah. I tried one from them as well with no luck... Kinda confused on what order to install all of the different setups in...maybe? Doesnt explain how it worked when I first installed it then stopped when in rebooted.

same thing happened to me after I did some windows update. Go to Device Manager and select "Show hidden devices" and then you should find the 6300N card is disabled. Just right click and enable.

A lot popped up. Which one do I enable? And under which category?
The 6300 doesn't even show up anywhere after I show hidden.

Network adapters. Turning on my R3 now to get the name of the device.

If it's not listed does that mean my card somehow turned bad lol? Or somehow after reseating it again it is not seated correctly?
I went back in and reseated and still no device under device manager. It should show up as a device even without the drivers and install correct? If so i think I got a dud. :(
Edit: I've come to the conclusion that I merely received a defective one and have already issued for a replacement from newegg. Thanks for the help guys.

Did you test it in a different system?

I did not, because I finally figured out the problem. I installed the os through alienrespawn to factory setting. I then ran the resource dvd, and here is where the problem was: for some reason it detected my system as having an intel 6250 instead of the actual 6300 I have. So I installed the driver for the 6250 off of the resource dvd and now it is working for good. Now I can finally enjoy this awesome laptop. :)
So for anyone with the 6300 aftermarket, try to run the resource dvd and see what it shows your system as having and install the driver off of the dvd for it. I did this after reverting back to factory default.

Hey man, glad you got it fixed. I had no clue what to suggest as the 6300 drivers from Dell worked fine on my fresh install :p

Thanks you guys. Yeah in my Device manager it says 6300. Weird the resource dvd tells me otherwise. Oh well. Anyone else love the keyboard as much as me? I came from a G73 with chicklet. I love this full keyboard... :)

I usually *hate* laptop keyboards and am sort of a snob when it comes to them (I usually stick with my $170 DECK Legend Mechanical) but this one really grew on me.

While I'd prefer using my DECK still this is not in the least bit painful :D

I think this one is much better. More feedback... and it's a full keyboard! Just feels better honestly. And I'm glad yours grew on you, X3NIA lol.

Well my problem happened again... Randomly stopped working... :(
I am pretty sure it's a programn causing interference. I'm going to do a complete fresh install and I'm positive that will end this. I didn't want ton have to go through the trouble of a fresh install but I have plenty of time so no worries.
Edit: Well, I uninstalled some programs and turned it off for a bit and when I turned it on... It works! Just gonna do a fresh os install when I get a new SSD.
