I am having trouble with games running well (w/high settings).

My system with Windows Exp Index Score Beside:
    M17X11 Red Matallic
    Windows 7 64-bit
    Intel Core i7 1.73GHz-3.06GhzTM (7.2 Score)
Dual 1G ATI Radeon CrossfireX, GDDR3. (7.2 Score)
    8GB Dual Channel DDR3 Ram at 1333MHz (7.4 Score)
    1TB Raid 0 HDD (5.9 Scored Low?)

    Ok lets talk Crysis
    Running it @ 1280X720 Rez
Auto Detect settings give me Medium (not sure why and I am getting 20 FPS roughly) any higher and I get a lot less, I be happy if I can figure why I cant run it on high with high frame rate.

My goal is run on High with 30-40 FPS too much to ask from a Laptop?)

    P.S.
let me know any more information is needed to help me out, just dropped a small fortune on this laptop and yes its good but am puzzled why the FPS is taking a huge hit like that.

Maybe your using the 8400m or only a single 5870. I have no idea how to check that out, but most of the problems pertaining to low FPS occur when the user has stealth mode on. I have a desktop 8400 and can get a little high FPS with the same settings, last time I checked.

First I'll say make sure you don't have Stealth Mode enabled which could be downclocking your GPU/CPU's Secondly make sure you have the latest Stable Catalyst control Drivers for your 4870's. Check that crossfireX is enabled in the ATI CCC.

Finally make sure your game client is properly updated. Also make sure Powerplay is turned off in teh ATI CCC. (Catalyst Control Center) that could be affecting your performance.

You should have no problems running at 1920x1200 High Settings.

I meant using stealth mode, every M17x comes with a 8400m GS no matter what for stealth mode.

Did what you guys said, Stealth was off, crossfireX is enabled also set all to Performance, I had to Disable Powerplay (might have improved frames) ended up running Crysis in 32bit and now can play in High settings, still running it @ 20 frames in 1280X720 though. I think Fallout 3 and Dragon Age run slightly better now though.

If you guys think of anything else I can try let me know. Thanks.

You have to plug in the power cord in order to get the full performance and for your information, with just a single HD4870m, you will get around 25 to 30 average in playing crysis at 1680x1050 resolution.

LOL, yes!~!!!! they all came with a 4 year old Nvida GPU!!. i would say do at least a little research before posting Gems like this.

i would tend to agree that something is up. ive never played crysis, but form what ive read everyone with similar specs, is getting between 25-35 fps @ high resolutions. something is either wrong or your missing something. i would post some screen shots of gpuz & cpu-z and maybe Hwinfo32 if you have time.

Testing some changes now, got 30 FPS on ultra high which is way better so will be a nice 35-40 on High I am guessing, turns out my second vid card was not running although it said it was in CCC but in GPU-Z said it was disabled but available, think that was my main problem, Stealth Mode must have been activated when I first got my system and not knowing what it was, every time I clicked it again it asks if I wanted it activated I said no, (but it was already activated) so I had to activated it again with YES to turn it off I think, not saying NO i dont want it on, also the stealth button should flash, change color when on, or Dim a lot more when off or something its a bit confusing and makes me look like a Alienware Noob lol ;)

    Thanks Again ;D
