Lately I've been experiencing blue screens when playing games or pretty much anything else. This is my first Alienware and honestly I'm not sure where to begin in order to fix this. I would like to avoid a reformat right now. I doubt it is a heat issue, as my temps rarely rise above 60C, reaches 85C only when gaming.

Anyway, here are my specs and my event viewer logs and dump files. I was hoping someone here would be able to decipher it all. :D

    Alienware R3
    Intel I7 2720QM
    AMD 6970M (11.7 drivers)
    4GB Ram

Event Viewer shows this entry after every blue screen.

....and what my dump files contain.

    Any help, greatly appreciated.

Running a quick Google of the bccode 0x00000109 revealed it might be faulty RAM. Have you tried running a RAM tester such as memtest yet? Depending on how many modules you have in your system, go ahead and pull one out at a time and check for errors.

Will the memory test in win7 be sufficient? I don't have any spare cd's to burn a memtest cd.

While running win7's memtest, I got a message saying a hardware problem had been detected. Unfortunately windows got stuck at "windows is starting." So I didn't receive any details. =( Should I run it again? Or just go ahead and contact dell?

Yeah please try again. If it fails again try in Safe Mode. Report back. Good luck.

Ran it overnight, after I started it in safe mode. This morning the laptop was stuck at the same point when trying to boot.

Edit: I pulled the ram chips and put them back in, and no blue screen so far, after playing GTA IV for about an hour.

Does anyone know if Gamebooster could cause some instability? By shutting down processes and programs? I didn't start it before that session.
