Hey guys, need some help with my laptop.

So I was gaming a while ago then all of a sudden the game crashed and did a force shutdown holding the power button, soon as I reboot, I noticed a massive slowdown to my system, even after restarting it for several attempts it still slow, so I decided to backup my files to my ext HD to do a factory restore, I noticed the file transfer was a lot slower than I remember... But anyways, system is now factory restored, and system is still slow, definitely noticed in even when booting up it takes 2 mins longer... on top of that my DVD drive stopped working and by stopped working what I mean is when I try to load up a disc it doesn't take it...

Any suggestions or comments as to what happened to my unit?

Should I start replacing the HD?

You should start by performing a clean Windows installation, because there's always a chance that the factory restore partition is corrupted too, follow the steps in this article to do it properly:

How to install Windows 7 in an Alienware Computer?

Let me know how it goes.

thank you will try to do that, however my only concern is will this solve the dvd drive issue? my dvd drive still isn't taking in any discs even though I factory restored the system, which i've done in the past a handful of times using alienrespawn but never getting any problems whatsoever,,,

Try the OS installation, it should work fine after that, but if it doesn't, there's a couple more things we can do so let me know :)
