I need help with installing Window 7 64bit on my Alienware M17xR3. I typically like to reinstall and erase the factory to my formatting. So I blew away the raid, popped in my Win 7 disc, well, it looks like it cannot find the SATA drivers I guess.

I am trying to install from USB, when the install asks for Browse it does not show me the USB. Only the temp. intall folder and the CD/BD rom drive. So I copied the INTEL SATA RAID Controller from the DELL site to the USB drive but still no go. It keeps saying No new devices could be found. Make sure the driver files are correct. Is there any way for windows 7 setup to recognize the USB drive during the install or do I need some other driver?

    Update:
Thanks for everyone who replied. The issue turns out to be this:
    * I tried to install via USB Key, but the issue was for some reason it is currently not possible to create a 64bit USB bootable flash Win 7 from an *x86* system.
    * The solution was to well create a DVD disc, with the slowest write speed and things installed fine. Now, that I have an x64 system, I guess I should be able to build a bootable flash.

Did you plug the usb drive into the right side of your laptop? The ones on the left are usb 3.0 so it won't show up in the installer.
