Hi, i am planning to upgrade my system to gtx 580m from 6970m, i have been looking for specific thread that discussing this GPUs but i couldn't find one, does anybody know step by step on what should i do?
And in term of thermal compounds, i am going to use prolimatech TK-3 and still figuring out the thickness of thermal pads that i need, can somebody tell me which thickness is needed for gtx 580m?
Thanks in advance,

Hi, you can use the same thermal pads that you have on the 6970, if they are still good.

The above link is for installing the 7970, but it's basically the same. Just remember to Uninstal the videocard drivers for the 6970 before you proceed. Also if you are in need of a 580 heatsink, I have one forsale as I am upgrading to a 7970.
YouTube also has videos on how to do it. -
coming from 580m to 7970m has to replace the heatsink, that link said. But coming from 6970m (same heatsink as 7970m i guess) to 680m does require replacing heatsink or not?
