Hi guys, i'm running Heroes of Newerth on my M17x R2 and my specs are as following,

    i7- 740QM Processor
    6GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM
    640GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive
    CrossFireX™ Dual 1GB GDDR5 ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5870

    I'm currently running 11.10 Catalyst with CAP11.10

During most of the time my fps would be at 50+ to 40 fps and during intense battles it would dip down to 30 fps. Compared to my friend who is running a similar g53 rig with nvidia 460m, he is getting an average of 60+ fps all the time. I have tried running it on both crossfire enabled and disabled to no avail at all. Are there any solutions to this issue or does this game really runs at that frame rate with given specs? (P.S: I am running Battlefield 3 max setting with AA turned off with almost 50+fps average)

Disable post processing, shadows and reflections, and make sure your running off Dx9 instead of OpenGL. Also if you you use hon mods, just get rid of them.

I wasn't sure to reply or not since you had the trollface icon.

I tried to lower down all of the setting mentioned above as well as lowering the shaders/texture but there doesnt seem to be much changes to the fps @_@

worst case scenario, you might be processor bottlenecked
Check if you have stealth mode on.

I have tested it out again and i am very sure that my set up is not bottlenecked as i am able to run games like BF3 maxed x4aa with constant 30-60+fps. I realized too that my Heroes of Newerth's performance has completely no difference at all when i run it in windowed mode as if it recognizes me running at windowed mode all the time.

after further investigation, i've come to realize that this issue occurs as well in another MMORPG "Eden Eternal" where my fps is suprisingly low at maxed out setting and highest resolution. However after switching in between 1650x1050(full screen) and then 1650x1050 (windowed) my performance instantly boosted itself and i no longer have any lag issues even with the highest resolution until i restart my computer again where i will hae to repeat the whole resolution switching process again. I am wondering here if there is any connections with these two issues and if possible is there any fix for them?

P.S: stealth mode is constantly off and my friend whom i mentioned having a similar rig as mine in the previous post runs an ASUS g53sw with i740qm, nvidia 460m, 8gb 1333mhz ram

HoN is a poorly optimized game, so there's multiple issues.

Heavy and occasionally bleeding ram usage, 0 crossfire support, and alot of times their patches break people's hon files.

A few things you could try.
Delete hon, and download the newest version from their site and install that.

check ram sticks for flaws with memtest. There's always a chance there's a memory leak from the game and sticks.

Testing memtest on my m17x now, would take awhile for the test to finish. Another thing that i am wondering about right now is if my other issue with the resolution switching bug has anything to do with hon's issue now.

Everyone has some sort of problem with every new patch. The best we can do is wait it out till they fix it.

Hey be glad we're not like the mac users who always crash every patch :D

Done testing with memtest and apparently i have no leakage at all. Meh, sucks to know how much a 460m can outperform a 5870m in this game

its probably the crappy AMD driver optimization. Just be patient and see if a newer driver increases performance. :)
