I did a full clean install of windows 7 last night after upgrading my primary drive to SSD,
and now I am experiencing high cpu temps according to HWinfo.

    To put in perspective,

temps before windows clean install. (after using unigine heaven)

    temps after windows clean install

( stress test from alienware autopsy )

and after playing left4dead2 for 2-3 hours

    Actions Taken:
*Ran the built-in diagnostic (F12 on startup), and found nothing but good results.
*Ran AlienwareAutopsy also found nothing but good results.
*Updated to latest NVIDIA driver (i dont know if it will be a factor)
*Double/Triple checked the installation of SSD for dirt, loose screws, etc etc. found nothing.
*Also checked the power management, set to High Performance

Does clean installing windows affect temps?

Could be using different drivers somewhere to give a different result.

Try the temperature reader from BIOS, if you have one. then u can tell if it is a windows bug or not. Also try other software temp readers.
Sending it for maintenance to clean the dust and add thermal paste is always a good idea.

    Thanks for the tip.

    Will try your suggestions.
Anyway, I just bought this last monday. So I think it's not dusty inside.

What is the normal environment where you use it? It does not seem that high, anything bellow 90C is acceptable. Do you have a cooling pad or something to keep it cooler?
