Has anyone else experienced glitches while gaming with this graphics card. It reminds me a bit like the distortion you get on some old VHS tapes at the bottom of the screen when the tracking is slightly off, except the glitches are more in the centre of the screen.
They seem to occur when there is a lot of movement on the screen like when running and turning in first-person games. It's really annoying, any ideas how I can fix it?

tryed other drivers? if u did and problem still persist then its faulty lcd or gpu
-
Where can I get the latest drivers from? I've tried the ATI site but they don't seem to give them out anymore. Just the catalyst verification tool which doesn't run when I download it. Could my GPU get any worse if it's faulty? -
For ATI you just download their manager and install it. It'll select the current best driver for you. At least that's what I did when I had ATI/AMD lol. Are you sure it's not screen tearing?
-
I it's faulty than it can't get any worse lol. But i think it's a driver issue try download latest drivers and install it, hm so you say only bottom of screen? If it's screen tearing than in games it should whole screen tear, but when u enable vsync in games problem will go away. But the problem u described looks to me like lcd or gpu failure -
I'll take another look tonight at the drivers. I can't remember specificall ywhat happenned when I downloaded the catalyst but it either didn't work or said I had the most recent driver already, which is strange as there were a lot more recent drivers available when I first got my laptop than the one on the Dell site.
It may be screen tearing after googling it, except the line, which is about 1cm thick, is more of a skewed blur of the the true image than an offset. Don't know if this makes any difference?
Thanks -

I've just run amd catalyst and it says "The version of your graphics card is not supported. Please contact your notebook manufacturer for a graphics card update".
Also printscreen won't work in-game. Come to think of it, it's not just the horizontal glitches, it's glitches in general a lot of the time when moving quickly on screen. It's hard to explain!
Do you guys think I may be able to send it back for a repair or will they refuse because I've repasted the GPU. Also there was a stripped screw from the heatsink when I opened it up (one of the four at each corner). It didn't seem to make much difference though as I couldn't push that particular corner down any further. :-\
I may post a video of it. Anyone know some good software I can use? -
I think you're just having some major driver bugs from poor driver installation from factory, happens all the time. My best advice is to always reinstall your OS and use this guide to install your drivers:

On another note, I've just video'd the game in super high bit rate 3.9gb for 20 seconds, and the glitches have gone. This to me sounds more of a display driver issue than a graphics processing issue. Thing is they both use the same driver package file. I'm going to hook the game up to my HDTV actually and see what goes on.

Just a thought but from the description of the fault there is a small chance vsync might help. Did you try turning vsync on in games and still experience exactly the same issues? Please see the article about screen tearing and vsync here.

Thanks for all your help guys!
Any ideas where I can find the vsync setting? I've looked in the catalyst control centre but I can't find it.
.........ok never mind, I've found it! -
The vsync setting has improved the quality a bit. Now the blurred thick line has gone and there is more of a normal screen rip, which gives the illusion of a fine line across the screen when there's moverment. It's an improvement, I think but haven't tested it properly yet.
I'm going to try and get the AMD verification tool working the next couple of days and download the most recent driver as well
