For some weird reason I am getting a ton of processor whine when loading the splash screens for each test. Also, some of the tests are giving me these weird horizontal lines on the screen. Regardless, I got a score of 62248 on the free version of 3Dmark03. Gonna check for an update to the software and see what happens.

Ok, so it looks like I need to download 3Dmark06. Will benchmark again and report here.

I think that Vantage is pretty much the standard now, if you've got access to it.

Alright, although I still got processor whine, it wasn't as bad this time. Score is a lot lower, but the horizontal lines have completely gone away. I downloaded 3Dmark06 basic. I might buy the full version some other time, but for now I am much happier with the result.

On a side note, I did get some screen tearing during the tests, but maybe that's because I can't change any of the settings in 3Dmark06 basic.

    Score is 12883.

And on downward I go. Lol. I dropped to 11,114 3D marks with Vantage. No screen artifacts at all. Very nice.

Isn't that score about right for a 720 and 4870s in Vantage? The reason your score goes down each time you try a newer benchmark is because each one is more stressful than the one it replaced. 3DMark'05<3DMark'06<3DMark Vantage, etc.

Yea, that sounds about right for a 720M. Vantage is a lot less CPU dependant then 3DMark06 for the graphics score

I agree. Makes sense. Just glad to see all of the weird lines go away.
