Download drivers from support, if you go to the drop-down box there is an independent section for winx64 win8.1
Bios (A13 has launched)
Chipset
Intel Management Engine Interface
Intel Rapid Storage technology
LAN driver ( I just used the win8.1 M$ drivers)
Wireless Driver (if killer 1103, then download the driver even though it sez 1202)
Display Driver.
If you can’t install the discrete graphics driver on the m17xr4, use F7 and boot into integrated GPU install the intel drivers then F7 to 7970M and install the ATI drivers...incidentally 7970M hybrid-blocked issue is no more if you install the drivers from Dell in Win8.1
Audio driver
Bluetooth driver
Touchpad driver
Alienware On-Screen Display driver
Alienware Command Center ( from the win8 section of driver support for your laptop)
Log into My Dell Downloads to install any apps that came bundled with your AW.
Create your own “win8.1 factory” image from the alien respawn available

You are very welcome, but can I be the first to say thank you to your organisation for fixing up the driver issues so quickly, I don't really use the 8.1 for anything save as a redundant OS, but nice to know everything works
