Why should it be bad? It is still HD. If you have a blue ray then go for the full HD screen.

its going to be significantly better than most laptops. I'd go with 1080 but if fhd is hard to read no shame in 900p.

In my opinion 900p is better than using dpi scaling or dropping the resolution.

In short, 900p is not in any way bad.

You should be fine, I had a 900p screen in my R2 and it was just fine, sure the RGB was better but I was ok with it. I went with the 1080p because I wanted the Nvidia card and with the 3D package I ordered at the first release it didn't really cost me much more at all to get the 1080p/3D/120hz panel. The only things I would say 1080p are a must have for are: BluRay; people who need the real estate like graphic design, programming, etc; and anyone heavily into benching so you don't need an external just to benchmark.

Question, and this is related to the 900p. When using HDMI in, can one select which resolution to use? Example is with PS3 plugged in, can you choose (via the computer/monitor, not the PS3) 1080p, 900p, etc? Or are you stuck with the monitor's "native" resolution, i.e. 900p for OP or 1080p for me?

I ask, cuz I like the 900p look on my desktop monitor with PS3 plugged into it. I have no idea what 1080p will look like :p

    Thx!

You should be able to set the resolution on your PS3 and/or computer to what resolution you want. Most screens won't upconvert(a 720p screen won't usually scale and display 1080p) but if you have a 1920x1080 screen and want to view 1600x900 then you can definitely downscale the resolution.

When I downscale to 900p on the PS3, will it show 900p reso (fullscreen) on the R3 screen, or will I get black bars along the sides?

Good point, you can't run 1280x1024 in a 900p screen. So goodbye 3Dmark Vantage.

Somewhere on this forum I've read that if you connect a ps3 or xbox360 you can only run it at 720p. I'm not sure if that is correct.

yeah, I hated my desktop's old 1600x900 display enough, due to it's strange res, and the fact that Halo 2 Vista wasn't even compatible with it and AMD's older drivers sucked badly with GPU based scaling (should be better now).

I got buyer's remorse. I always thought I could upgrade the screen later on to the 1080p screen just in case, but that's not possible with the r3. I should of done my research before hand.

This wait is way too long as well. I shouldn't have to wait 20 days for a laptop!
