    How do I know which M17x I have?

    I ordered mine from Dell.ca cause I live in Canada and I nowhere saw R1,R2 or R3... it says M17x10...so which rev is it?

    mind to post the specs??



    if it is core duo or core quad is R1, if It's i7 with 285m or 5870 it ir R2. If it is i7 with 6870 or 260m gtx it is R3

    what CPU do you have?

    Core Duo/Quad = R1
    i5 or i7 with 3 digit CPU (720, 840, 940, etc...) = R2
    i5 or i7 with 4 digit CPU (2720, 2840, 2940, etc...) = R3

    R2's came with i5 CPUs.

    Also 4870 GPUs....

    4 gb ram
    5870 radeon hd (no crossfire)

    so its R2?

    unfortunately no, im in college and I dont' have a lot of money I wanted to go with performance over quality, is there really a difference?

    RGB LED is awesome, very vivid, good colors. You have to see it to believe it.

    However it's still a great system without :)

    yes i've been using my 17" toshiba with integrated 4500mhd chipset to play SC2 and WoW... just getting an alienware will be a good upgrade
