    Hey guys was wondering how to improve performance on m17x right out of the box for overallvantage bench and gaming? I got a i7 720qm 6gm ram and cf5870

    update the video driver? what else would you want to do? maybe try a fresh reinstall go to dells support site and make sure all your drivers are up to date thats about it tho man.

    Where should I get a video drover, dells site or do I download the Catalyst control center 10.5 from ATIs website?

    fresh reinstall worked for me. Dell installed 4870 CF drivers for my 5870 CF system. It was unstable. Crysis was running 20-25 on High before the reinstall.... after I got 50-60 on High and able to get very high 22-34

    Always get your video driver for that laptop at DELL since their interface is different than the original mobil video card ATi makes, OEM specified interfaces have OEM specific drivers and are specific to those cards.
