How do you rest your M17x on your lap without your legs going to sleep?

I've got an M17x R3 and I've been using it on the couch lately while I watch The Walking Dead... Unfortunately though, it seems no matter how I rest this thing on my legs, they begin to fall asleep after about an hour. Does anyone have a strategy for both keeping the laptop ventilated, and resting it on your lap comfortably? (Preferably without buying any 3rd party items - since I'm kinda broke at the moment)

Before I got a Targus lappad @ $23.00 (nice soft underside!) I used a pillow, board, and paperback book prop between the fan intakes to raise it a little :D

I don't use it on my lap. I have it on the bed next to me. It's easier to type sideways than to cut off the blood supply to me legs.

    Simple:

    I don't.

Laptops aren't made for gaming on your lap. They're made with mobility in mind. That's just silly to think otherwise. :p

 Some of us do not have the luxury of being able to sit in a chair at a table. The LAPtop is a vital piece of equipment, as well as something to game on :D. Different strokes dude ....

no offense, but I don't really care if you "don't use a laptop on your lap" ... I'm asking for input from the people that do. You absolutely can game with a laptop on your lap, but I'm not really here to debate that since it seems blatantly obvious to me.

We got my cousin one of those types of lap trays for her XPS 15. She seems to like it. Her only complaint is you have to hold onto the notebook when you shift your body position otherwise the bean bag under the tray will slide sideways and the notebook may slide off.

If you are a tobbacco user, quitting that will help improve your circulation quite well.

You can always pick up one of those little bean-bag-bottomed trays from any PC peripherals store and see how you get on - you might like it. It might cost £10/$10, but it will save the experience of constant pins 'n' needles! :p

I game hours on end on my laptop (witcher 2, LoL, sleeping dogs to name a few) but I do use a laptop cooler; nothing too extravagant, just a Belkin one from pc world and I have no issues.

The laptop never overheats and the maximum temps I get are like 70c on my GPU and 75c on my CPU. So I would invest in a cooler.

A lot of people recommend the cooler master U3 but apparently it isn't so comfortable on the lap due to the fans.

I also don't use my M17xR2 on my lap. I've got a Notepal U3 and it does the job. What normally falls asleep when I watch T.V. show and movies is me. LOL!

The m17x and m18x are considered desktop replacements because of their size. You should get something smaller if you want something on your laptop.

I use mine on my lap more than 75% of the time. I do use a lap desk so I have room for my Orochi mouse, but rarely use the M18x with it sitting on a desk.

Hey Fox! Long time no see :D
Yeap, going with a lap desk is a good choice, but the m18x is massive beast! I want one :D
