It's been a little over a year since I purchased my M17xR3. I am thinking about selling it due to carpal tunnel which keeps me from doing any sort of gaming. The laptop's been sitting for months not even being turned on. Specs are in my sig. Is this even a competitor in the gaming laptop market anymore?

Really like the laptop but it's a glorified web browser for me.

Its not to bad tbh, should be worth something depending on waranty left. There is a good market for alienware laptops, they are still worth alot even after a year or so

Ok thanks. I thought it played all the modern games from early last year pretty good, just wasn't sure how much more powerful the newer CPU/GPU's are now a days.

Depending where your from, i'd expect that laptop to get between £1000-£1400.

When i listed my R3 with similar specs i got an offer of £900 after 3 minutes of it going live. I never sold it in the end.

Upgrade to Windows 8, stick a bigger HDD in and stress in the description that it has barely been used too and it will sell like a hot cake, warranty or not.

Your laptop is fine. I mean, you should sell it as soon as you can just for the sole reason of getting the most out of it. It will still sell like cake nowadays but you might not get the full worth of it if you wait another 6 months or a year.

You can still get some good money out of it. Compare it with the ones online (DELL OUTLET or Ebay) and you will get a good price to sell it.
