So, I can't seem to find reviews or benchmarks anywhere about the 6870M, and I imagine that the majority of you people who buy the M17x R3 opted for the 460M and up. But I'd like to ask those of you who know, how does the 6870M perform?
AFAIK, the 6870M is just a slightly underclocked version of the 5870M, but is that it? The 5870M seems like it can run SC2 on ultra 1080p just fine, so I was just wondering if the same would apply for the 6870M.
Can anyone comment further on the performance? I want to buy a card that will just meet the minimum requirements in order to play SC2 on ultra 1080p. And I'm hoping when Diablo 3 comes out, the requirements won't be too much different than those of SC2.

Personally I think 6870m is pretty nice card, it's basically a 5870m. the reason why you think it might not be good enough is because 6970m is almost 40% stronger. But 6870 is still a high end card and if you oc it it could become a beast.

The 6870m is a very decent card, I have yet to install SC2 on my laptop but I am able to get 60 FPS in WoW in most locations even in raids (though not in Orgrimmar, but most people cant even with the highest end systems).
And here's the comparison/benches that you'd want:
AMD Radeon HD 6870M - Notebookcheck.net Tech
To give you an idea of how good it is, on that site the cards are ranked on the right side in order of their performance. The 6870m is solidly a class 1 card and in fact performs nearly as well as even some of the crossfire/sli options. -
My boi usshellfire (who hasn't been on here in a while) ordered the 6870 and had nothing bad to say about it. Dude, he's been gone for a while (he's in the military)...I hope he's safe out there.

You seemed to be missing for a week or so as well, what was that about if you don't mind me asking? -
