So I bought an M17X a few weeks ago and I just charged it to my CC because it is a lot less interest then Dell's interest rate by far....The laptop was shipped last week and I expected to see the charge show up at that point but I have yet to be charged and the laptop should be here any day now. So my question is how long does it usually take? I would have thought they would have made sure the charge was good before they shipped it.

Sometimes they have issues with the authorization process (happened to me) and you will need to give them your credit card info again. Call them up with your order/customer number and tell them your card hasn't been charged yet.

They do a quick temp charge when you order and then its removed shortly after. Then they charge it when the system ships. They don't keep the charge on while its in process because of the possibility of a delay.

This happened to me. You will end up getting charged. I promise lol.

It took them forever to charge me and I had a feeling I wasn't going to be charged.

They don't charge when the system ships. They charge the customer when the delivery company notifies Dell that the customer has received the item.

You should have done the Dell preferred account. I received 3% off my order and no interest for 1 year!

I am not planning on taking an entire year to pay it off. I mostly just wanted the extra 3% discount.

Well I was getting a pretty good deal to begin with , almost $600 off. And I plan on paying it off well before the 12 months as well but in the event that I don't the interest rate through Dell was atrocious and my CC is really low so I am fine with the minimal interest I should see because of it.

I also don't like that I can't just pay off what was owing on my Dell Financial account if I choose to with my CC, it had to come from my bank account.
