Got mine with the 6970 last week. I only use it for gaming and ran it this entire holiday weekend with non-stop Starcraft 2 & Company of Heroes.

Worked great, except Company of Heroes still have a DX10/11 bug that crashes the game (not the computer). Other than that, AOE 3, Titan's Quest Immortal Throne and Starcraft 2 worked great.

    Cheers,

You're also an AOE fan? I was looking forward to playing it when I get this laptop. :)

Zero problems. Nicest piece of electronic/computer gear I have ever owned. And the most expensive :)

Yes, AOE 3 is fantastic with all the highest settings at 1080p.

Also, this I must say this is the best laptop I've owned. Extremely versatile. I'm using it as a second monitor connected to my iMac while I work and it's connected to my HDTV for the occasional gaming session at the same time. Outstanding!

    Cheers,

Nmm got mine from outlet , came in like brand new condition
after about 1 week of having it i got 1 dead pixel :( , although if another one will appear i can always get a replacement monitor (its in the warranty..)

At first i had some problems with games but it all working fine now
And seems like my hdd is dying but i need to contact dell so they will send me new one , no real major problems like bsod's and such (since hdd is replaceable and so is the dead pixel if another 1 will appear..)

I'm having crazy random reboots with my system at least once a day... still working with tech support to try and figure out why. So far we haven't found a reason. I'm hoping it gets fixed or replaced ASAP...

lol, I've had my fair share of problems.. I have the gtx460m 3D
-Reinstalled windows because It was freezing occasionally
-Took me 4 clean reinstalls in a row to figure out the SD card driver causes bluescreens on re-install so I left it out..
-Now it randomly shuts down with no cause, suspecting a faulty power supply, going to contact dell

    In 14 days, i've had 12 bsod's, mostly caused by ntoskrnl.exe, 1 by igdkmd64.sys, and 1 by tcpip.sys

Otherwise, it works great for gaming. Just need to make sure nothing's faulty.

I have had mine for a month (or about that), 460m w/ 3d. Installed Solid 3 SSD. Had bsod repeat during first install of windows (I installed a ton of drivers at once then rebooted), then re-installed windows and did each driver separately and now my system is perfect!

Runs fast, no BSOD (knock on wood). Love my machine, 460m is wonderful enough for me :) I like the 3d even though many ppl don't.

    Jeff.

About a year now since I got mine. No issues except really really minor ones that I could care less about troubleshooting them. I'm a happy owner :)

The keyboard and top control panel flex like there is no tomorrow. Much worse then the cheap dells and acers I've had. Very puzzling as to why the engineers couldn't solve it.

Company of Heroes seems worthless to play at DX 10, I'd rather use DX 9 and still have my Alt Tab...

With that being said I love my M17x R3, I have an M17x R2, and I haven't touched my R2 for about 2.5 weeks now, the R3 is easier for me type on and much more usable in terms of everyday computing. The R2 is a gaming Beast but it isn't nearly as practical as the R3 for everyday computing.

Is there any fixes for the flex in the keyboard? Like a in home mod? Something to put under there?

One thing I noticed, my keyboard looks like it slopes towards the screen... of course this could be a trick of the eyes.

Just had my keyboard replaced and the flex is just something to live with I think. Its not horrible but can raise caution (or did for me as my m15x had no flex).

Just avoid the 460m, and make sure you install the drivers in proper orders, which according to dell is "Uninstall, restart, install, restart, done."

Why avoid the 460M exactly? I guess it's just too outdated? (I'm delaying ordering a system based on my impression that it's not powerful enough anymore and that the 560M is around the corner)
