    Hi everyone,

    I have a Silver M17x R1.

All parts inside where replaced by Dell before end of warranty and never really used since then ... (got another R3 for daily use).

    Here are the specs :

    • Core 2 Extreme
    • 8GB Ram
    • Dual 5870 in Crossfire X (was provided and install by Dell)
    • DVD R / CD R Drive
    • 2x 500GB 7200 RPM HDD
    • Mint Condition (no scratch or dents)
    • All original packaging
    • Was completely repasted with high quality thermal pads and paste AC5 by professional technician

I simply don't need it anymore.

I would check Ebay, you can look at completed auctions as well to give you an idea.

I sold my Asus G73-JH a couple months ago for $850 with these specs:
    i7-720QM
    6gb ram
    120gb SSD
    500gb storage (7200)
    5870

What screen resolution does it have? How well does the CPU overclock? Is it the dual or quad core?
Honestly I doubt you would get much more or even the same as what I got, now that I look at some benchmarks. I sold mine in August. The dual GPU is nice, but a single 6990m matches it and that processor is really long in the tooth now. The quad core (QX9300) benchmarks a little higher than the i7-720qm and is slower than the new i5-3210 in single thread applications. The QX9100 isn't close.

Edit: looked some more, a new laptop with a 660M 2gb/i7 3610qm is $900. So I'd ask $700 or under to start, but be prepared to go lower.

thx for the input ... it's the 1920x1080 Display, it's the QX9300, Quad Core, it also have 2x5870 cards ... I guess 850$ could be a good start ...

Those outlet prices for R1/R2s are absurd. They are considerably more than a new R4.
Dell Factory Outlet: Error <- $2500???!?!?!?

That machine isn't even worth half of that new anymore.

Edit: link was broken for some reason. Anyways, this is the specs of the $2550 machine:
Processor: Intel Core 2 Extreme Quad QX9300 Processor (2.53GHz, 12MB Cache, 1066MHz FSB)
    Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium
    Dell Outlet Alienware M17x Laptop
750 GB SATA Hard Drive (7200RPM)
    8 GB DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz (2 DIMMs)
    8X DVD +/- RW Drive
Dual 1024MB CrossFireX, ATI Radeon HD 4870

Here's an updated link. http://www.dell.com/us/dfh/p/laptops?scat=notebooks&isredir=true The bottom line is, that processor was launched in 2008, benches at 3750 on 3Dmark06 and 11000 on Cinebench multi. A new 3720qm scores 6575 and 18500.
