Just wondering if any of you guys use the hdmi in feature? I barely see it ever get mentioned. I was previously on 275.33 and it worked for the most part, couldn't change brightness or volume unless I unplugged the HDMI, adjusted, then plugged it back in. Sometimes the signal would cut out but I think that's just a faulty hdmi cable.

I recently upgraded to 285.79 (it's a beta I know) and now when I plug the hdmi cable in with my ps3 on, it briefly shows something and then just cuts out to a black screen. Tried with different cables and all the same.

I'm just wondering how the hdmi in functions, is it reliant on certain drivers? Are there settings I need to set up? I'm sure SOMEBODY here uses the hdmi in feature.

i actually used it today to do some work on a desktop i bought for a friend. I didn't check the volume, but the screen worked fine. It was a bit dark but it was running as high as it could go because i turned it down and back up. i don't know if its reliant on certain drivers because im running the beta drivers as well. :)

    EDIT:

does it say HDMI in enabled on the screen when you have the PS3 plugged in? than all you should have to do is hit function F8 and you should be in business ;)

Mouse lag happens on some tvs, for instance my samsung 7000 has mouse lag until I turn on game mode, then it goes away for the most part. But this is a separate issue for another thread.

I tried the fn f8, it does switch between regular mode and ps3 mode HOWEVER, it's still displaying my ps3 screen for half a second and then blacking out. I searched around the web and there doesn't seem to be a hdmi-in driver. But I did stumble across a thread where 280.xx drivers were recommended as the most recent one that doesn't break hdmi-in.

Guess I should wrap this thread up by saying the 280.26 official drivers install without modded inf and hdmi-in is working again. So stick with this until we get something thats not 285.xx.

    Guys,

Is this only an issue with the NV gpus? I haven't read/heard much about hdmi-in with the AMD gpus. Well, haven't really heard much about hdmi-in at all lolzzz. Haven't used mine in a LONG time.

EDIT: Oh, just had a thought. Can one use the hdmi-out and plug it into the hdmi-in? I wonder lol.

On my first AMD R3, the HDMI Input worked great. Never had any issues whatsoever.

On my new Nvidea R3, I haven't tested it. I play with a mouse now :)

Just taking a wild guess, but are you sure its driver related and not refresh rate related? Will HDMI in be downgraded to 60hz on the monitor even if its running in 120hz? Just wondering if a driver upgrade resets the refresh rate from 120hz to 60hz when you upgrade it. Havent had much opportunity yet to mess with my HDMI in, but am going to try plugging the PS3 in tonight just to make sure it works. I know I currently have my monitor set to 120hz refresh in the Nvidia CP settings. So if I run into the same screen going black after a second issue, the first thing I am going to try is setting the screen to 60hz refresh. Not sure what drivers I have loaded, so I will have to check that. I ordered and received my system first week of December, so it's got whatever Dell put on it for drivers.
