    How safe is it to use external monitor, with the laptop closed?

    I know a lot of laptops use the keyboard area as a vent for heat, and i was wondering if it would cause my M17X to overheat if i used it closed, with an external monitor. I do have a laptop stand with fan to help improve airflow when sitting on my desk.
