Hi all, I'm buying a M17x R2 and we are doing a trade in person, with cash. I'm wondering how I can be certain that these things are indeed in the laptop:
    Screen: 1920x1200 RGB LED
    CPU: i7 720qm
    GPU: ATI 5870m Crossfire
    RAM: 4gb DDR3

And if there is warranty left?

Screen: Install HWinfo32 and look under screen the serial number (There used to be here a list of all serial numbers for all types of screen for the m17x,i'll look for it later if i can find it.)
CPU: Plenty of ways. Easyest is to press F2 when you turn it on and on the Main BIOS menu page you should see Intel Core I7 CPU Q 720
GPU: Now that you have HWinfo32 on it look under Video Adapter and you should see the ATi 5870 listed twice (2 cards).
RAM: Press F2 when you turn it on and on the main page of the BIOS menu you should see Total Memory being ~4096Mb

Warranty: You can look the warranty status up on Dells support site with the help of the service tag on the bottom of the laptop.
In the left side list there is Warranty Status, click it and in the next window enter the service tag, after that you should be able to see the warranty status of the system.
