All right As I understand, there is a story about modded inf file for latest non-beta drivers.... but WHERE DO I FIND it ?! I searched this forum... I searched google.... ALL I could find was for m18x (I don't want to install it but would it work?)

I've lost my link to the pack with the modded inf for that version of the driver. But Nvidia's 2 latest beta drivers installed no problemo on my 580M, without modded inf file. Maybe try the latest beta (v285.38)?

    NVIDIA DRIVERS 285.38 BETA

    *Edit*
    FOUND IT! :)
http://nvidiaforums.s3.amazonaws.com/dell.zip that is the 280.26 with the modded inf already in there, that worked on my 580M. Hope it works for you.

That one is finicky but I modded an INF that you can use with it.

Download the driver and if it doesn't work, replace the nvwi.inf in C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\285.38\WinVista_Win7_64\International\Display.Driver with the one in that archive and it will work just fine.

How did you get it to install? I haven't found that thread yet.

Thanks but I have no idea what to do with that .zip :S where do I download all that? Can I just use the modded file within it? if yes, where is it located?

I don't want the beta patch also, but the latest non-beta patch. Can anyone else help me please?

Stampy, If you'd like to give that one I posted with the modded inf file a try just extract the dell.zip file and run the Setup.exe that is enclosed in the dell folder that you get from uncompressing it. Nvidia modded that installer for a previous poster on the forums for his 580M. I don't have a 560M to try it on but it may do the trick. It is just a compressed nvidia installation folder. Win7 has an extractor program you can use to unzip it with (generally if you right click on a zip file there should be an option to extract it) or you can use a program like WinZip or Winrar though this should not be necessary.

I installed the 280.26 driver straight from the Nvidia website, they installed fine and I didn't need a modded INF (using a GTX460m)

All right this taking too long, I cracked... And installed 285.38 (The ones from yesterday.) Obviously not critisizing the respond time, it sure sounds like a difficult issue. And I would still take an answer on HOW to install a REGULAR patch without an issue cause it sure sounds like this is gonna be a problem in the future xD !!!!

I had to desinstall 285.38, cause it was creating display issues in IE9 (But somehow, not in mozilla... lol) PLEASE people tell me how you guys usually get the latest drivers :( I'm gonna need it for Cliffs of Dover!
What I want is the latest non-beta driver, 280.26 does not work for my 560m

MADE IT XD... though it showed me a red screen saying windows couldn't verify the source whatever... I used the modded inf from here:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...ded-info-file-nvidia-280-26-drivers-m18x.html
Cause I remembered dell or someone saying if you can't find up to date drivers on m17x r3, use m18x cause it's basically the same hardware. I'll edit this post if the restart goes smoothly :)
    EDIT: Yup, up to date.
