    Hi all

Sorry to trouble you guys again.

My m17x r3 comes with the killer cards n1103 but i had a horrible time with it. It does not work woth itunes and their latest drivers made my system crash. Bigfoot is aware of that now and are working on it.

meanwhile, i absolutely need my itunes and i hard i can update the killer card with atheros drivers. Is it safe?

Thing is, how do i go about doing it and where can i find the drivers? Not even sire which model or file is associated with the killer n1003 card.

Any gurus who have done that willing to help? I know that once i uninstall killer my network card will be disapperared. Not sure if it will still appear on devcie manager

    Help?

    Cheers all!

I have the 1102 card which is basically the same card minus 1 antennae. I hated the killer software too, uninstalled the software and driver, rebooted and loaded the atheros driver. It should be the same for 1103. Haven't had a hiccup since.
    http://www.station-drivers.com/telechargement/atheros/wifi/Atheros_wifi_920458(www.station-drivers.com).exe

    Steps:
    1) Uninstall the Killer network software via control panel/programs and features, just like you would remove any other piece of software. The uninstaller removes the network manager as well as the drivers. Reboot when it's finished (IIRC, it prompts you to do so).

    2) After you've rebooted, Windows should try to install the driver automatically but will fail. Close out that notification. Extract the Atheros drivers you downloaded to a folder.

    3) Go to either control panel/system or right-clicking on Computer and selecting properties and select device manager. You should have a device labeled "network controller" or something similar with a yellow exclamation point. Double click on that device, and the dialog box should say that the driver is missing. There should be a button to install/update driver. Click on that. When prompted, select "browse my computer for driver software" which is the second of two options you're presented. Point the wizard to the folder where you earlier extracted the Atheros drivers. Windows should install the driver, and it will appear in device manager as Atheros Osprey wireless adapter (or something similar).

    4) When it's finished, close out all the windows, including the wizard and device manager. Now you should be able to sign in to your network as you did before, using Windows' built-in connection manager.

    Hi Khetik

    Thanks for the steps!!

I will try them when i go back. So basically, the link that you attached would be the drivers for the n1103? It works for both 1103 and 1102 right?

    Hope it works!

    Again thanks a million.

I have an 1102, so I don't know if it will work for the 1103. But my assumption is that it should because it is the same card just with an extra antennae. Another reason why I feel it should work is because even Bigfoot has the same driver for the 1102 and the 1103.

My new M17X R3 works fine (great in fact) with the 1103 and latest Bigfoot software/drivers (the ones with the iTunes fix).

I kept getting an error or some problem when trying to use the latest drivers. Switched to atheros generic driver, and no itunes problems or wifi issues at all.

just a quick update, bigfoot have updated their drivers, may want to check it out ( version 6.1.0.219). new version does fix the itunes cpu usage issue and WoW launcher.

also it's a shame to have to resort to atheros drivers with such a card. you are paying a premium for the prioritization feature and in general, it works great. with the fixes for these apps, you might find your initial issues are gone.
