I'm a bit unsatisfied with the screen of my A17 2013 1600x900 screen, notably the viewing angles.
The reviews for the A17 2014 say that the 1920x1080 screen is significantly better than the 1920x1080 of last year's model.
Unfortunately, I was unable to find any reviews of the lower-resolution screen.
I am considering getting the 2014 A17. I'd rather not buy the Full-HD screen because here (in Germany) there are substantially cheaper offers for the low-res screen. So I'd like to know what the quality of the 1600x900 screen of the 2014 model is, in particular the viewing angles.
I'd be happy if anyone who has it already could provide some information.

However, I've been told time and time again that the 120hz screen is just out of this world. -
I don't know about the standard 1920x1080 screen on the 2013 AW 17, but I can confirm that the 120hz 3D screen really is spectacular.

Is that all the new 2014 (1920 X 1080) came with the 120hz or just the one with the TrueLife Display?
-
I don't even see an option for AW17's to have a TrueLife Display
-
All I have to say: The 1080p screen is worth every penny.

Just be aware that if you order the 120Hz 3D capable display your system will not have any integrated graphics functionality. This is fine if you don't need it for anything and you'll enjoy the better screen. I only mention this in case you do need to have respectable battery life, in which case you'll want to skip the 120Hz option and go with the standard 60Hz 1080p display (also a decent display panel). I am not suggesting you should choose one versus the other, only giving information for you to decide. It would suck to get the 120Hz and not know if it matters in your case.

If you request it through Dell, they can do it? Or what? -

The 1920x1080 screen is considerably better then the 1600x900 screen. I have had them both and I can say that if you have the option , getting the 1080 display is the way to go. I wouldn't say they are considerably better then last years though....I actually really like the glossy screens as they had better colour and light IMO but then I never tried to use it outside so.....
The 120hz screen I have not seen personally in an AW but I have seen it in the Sager's and it is a very nice looking option. You can do this one yourself but you need a new LCD, LCD cable that goes from the MB to the LCD and to the 3D display port ( hard to find and can be expensive if you can't get it through Alienware) and the 3D emitter which is easy to find on Ebay along with the Nvidia glasses.
How's the A17 2014 1600x900 screen?
