As the R3 has been out for quite some time now, for those of you who use the R3 on a daily basis, are there any signs of wear & tear on the "soft-touch" palm rest area?

I remember there were a few people awhile ago who mentioned that their soft-touch coating started peeling away on the R3 only after 2 months. I was just wondering if that's really what happens after extended use, or if those were just exceptions.

I use mine at least half the day almost everyday and NO signs of wear yet after 3 months. Looks the same like when i took it out the box. Doesn't build up sweat / dirt like normal laptop exteriors. Just don't scratch it or anything like that it.

    2 months, no peeling.
And it feels better than the cold steel feel of the R2.
    Personal preference. :)

Uhmm...what can we use to clean the rubbercoating? I've been using rubbing alcohol, but I'm afraid that it may wear it down in the future. Please advise, thx!

If we knew what material the rubber coating is made of maybe someone would know whats suitable to clean it with.

At moment rubber coating for the palm rest area is in excellent condition after a months and a bit.

No wear on mine. Looks and feels like new. For maint, I keep a soft clean cloth in my desk, I wipe the natural oils/sweat from the palm rest and keyboard, and lightly wipe down the screen when I'm done gaming.

No wear on mine. I clean my computer with a Swiffer cloth every couple of days and just wipe off any smudges using a damp paper towel with some water and soap.

Baby wipes do the trick for me. Nice and damp but not too wet. I also bought a screen cleaner witha lint free cloth,
