Just a thought, but you might want to post some specs, display driver ver, etc., along with details (fan stays on high the entire time?, is the system elevated at all to provide unobstructed free air flow?, have you recently checked for dust build up on the intakes?, etc.).

Your fans are supposed to run when you're gaming or doing other GPU or CPU intensive tasks. What you're explaining is perfectly normal, Sir.

Yes, because you're utilizing the CPU and GPUs, causing them to create more heat. My comments are not all inclusive though. If there is some underlying heating problem, I can't speak for that. If you would post a screen shot of HWInfo32 after a gaming session, we could tell you a lot more. Short answer is YES, your fans should be coming on during gaming, etc. They should slow down to a barely audible state when doing other normal tasks.

I actually have the opposite problem when I play a game. The fans don't turn on at all and it ends up locking up my computer. :(

I'm active in your other thread. You haven't provided any screenshots, etc., that we could use for troubleshooting.

Yeah I'll agree that when gaming (speaking of WoW specifically) my fans will typically go to full speed and stay there a majority of the time. Personally I'd rather they kick on and stay on to keep the components all nice and cool :)

My heatsinks have the retention mod and they're snipped, and my fans are running pretty good while playing WoW.
