So on the box it came in, it says 4800 series. in DXdiag it says 5800 series. I trusted that, and needed to update the vbios and drivers as the laptop wouldn't shut off (fans still running, lights stay on, screen goes black), but was told i don't have the right card, however the 4800 series drivers work. After installing the 4800 series drivers, everything works for a couple of days before the problem restarts.

Also, anyone know why when i downloaded Assasians Creed 2 and Heroes of Might and Magic Dark Messiah via steam yesterday, it caused me to bluescreen until i went into safe mode and uninstalled. (system restore wouldn't work) No idea which game was the cause.

Can you download GPU-Z and post a screen shot here?
Also tour can go to ma-config.com and run the detection tool to find out more about your system.

Looks like you have the latest drivers for your system.

    Ati Catalyst 11.6 Drivers.
As for vbios, I have never delved into messing around with them. Hopefully someone on here can help you with that!
