Im wondering if i can get some info on what switching to this mode actually does for battery life and how i can tell if it stays in this mode when plugged back in?

    Thanks,
    Steve

Integrated/discrete. Intel GPU built into CPU/AMD 6870. You'll save a ton of battery life by switching to Integrated when you aren't playing demanding games.

You can switching by hitting the function key, or by right clicking the desktop and picking the option to switch the GPU. From there, you can see what it is currently set to.

Does yours switching automatically? I thought AMD's were required to manually switch?

it is manual as far as i know. i usually get a window that comes up when i unplug it. sometimes i dont though, thats why i wondered about it. i thought that maybe it was staying in id mode. it seems to switch back to regular by itself at this point but i am still not sure. I cant tell any difference in performance or look since i only search the web and such right now. it runs my outlook, chrome, word, and everything at once, so nice that it is ridiculous. lol i get 3+ hours no matter if i change it or not it seems. thats why i was curious, i have 81% left with 2 hours 17 minutes right now. this is on high performance in battery mode with the I/D saying it is in battery mode. I think it will go alot longer than that but im not staying up to find out lol.

it looks like it switches properly after checking it out. it is manual to go both ways after plugging in or disconnecting.

If you drop it down to power-saver mode, it down clocks the processor and gets u even more battery :D
