Alright i just received my laptop on friday and i feel my laptop isn't as fast as everyone says it should be. My laptop specs are as follows: 2720, 8gb ram, 640gb raid 0, 1080p and 6990m. I wanted to know the average fps you guys get in games like Crysis 2, LoL, Starcraft 2 and Brink. I was wondering because I only get around 45fps on max settings in LoL and the game isnt that graphically intense. This is my 3dmark11 benchmark score

Try checking the link in my sig. It should give you a good idea of what FPS you should be getting.

Either you are on the integrated graphics, or you have a bad card. Hit Fn-F7 and switch your graphics.

Edit: Well, your 3dmark score SAYS you are on your AMD GPU, so then I am thinking either your card is bad, your drivers are not installed correctly, or maybe you just need to update some things.

    Download and install.

Oh yeah, it's also possible your GPU just isn't clocking up when it runs 3d. Check your powerplay settings.

Actually, try checking in your power settings that you GPU (6990M) is set to "Maximize Performance" and not "Maximized battery life."

Durp! I was looking at that as a Vantage, not 11 score! Though I'm not familiar with 11... But if the man says it's right, it's right! :)

So is there any conclusion? I feel my fps is low in a lot of games. Like in Brink, my fps is about 50fps

Your card looks fine. I suggest you turn down AA/AF settings to boost your FPS because at 1080P most people don't notice the difference between a high AA/AF setting and having it off. You can also try overclocking your card using Sapphire TRIXX. Doing one or both of these should increase you performance quite a bit.

Edit: For example, in Bad Company 2 when I turn off HBAO and turn 8XAA and 16XAF to 1XAA/AF the FPS goes from about 40-50 to about 70-80 and I don't notice any difference in the quality.

Edit 2: Actually it might be more like 60-70 rather than 70-80, but when I also OC it goes to about 75-85.

Check out this thread and you can see for yourself that you card should be fine according to the 3DMark 11 score. 6990M benchmarks.

Even on a desktop I run high AF but disable AA. I'm not a big AA guy. Doubtful even more so on a 17.3 inch 1080p screen.

That looks about right for a 6990. On a single OC'ed 6970, I pulled P3700 in 3D mark 11. Your score looks fine.
